Commander : Military Pieces + Brick Lane

One interesting past time I had in London was vintage shopping on Brick Lane. At a store called Blitz, I found a selection of British Navy outerwear from World War II. I was very intrigued by these coats and I tried on one that dates back to 1942. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up buying the coat because it’s ridiculously heavy and it didn’t fit me well at all. I’m not really in the shape of an army man! Nevertheless, this was a really neat experience and I recommend Brick Lane to anybody who likes shopping the unusual.

Despite not purchasing the WWII coat, I am still very much a fan of military clothing pieces. Today I’m wearing my military coat and my Dad’s vintage Ray-Bans (from the 80′s!). Military pieces exude a sense of confidence and determination; these are two qualities that everyone can benefit from. That’s probably why this trend has stood the test of time.

Thanks Mrs Bearfoot! These chelsea boots are great; they look formal but yet they are practical in wet weather conditions.

I agree with you, old coats are super heavy! Its nice how the designs have evolved over the years into something that we can actually make use of.
